Scholarship

Central Department of Biotechnology Scholarship:

The department offers one full scholarship and two partial scholarships to recognize academically outstanding students. The full scholarship covers the semester fee, while the partial scholarship covers up to 50% of the semester fee. The scholarships are awarded based on the student's performance in the previous semester's final examination. In the case of a male candidate receiving the full scholarship, one partial scholarship is reserved for a deserving female candidate.

Fulbright scholar to the department, Prof. Dr. L. Sreerama established three scholarships for poor and intelligent students of the department and three different scholarships have been awarded to students every year.

1. Drs. Rekha and Sreerama Scholarship:

This scholarship, established by Drs. Rekha and Sreerama, provides a partial scholarship of Rs. 10,000 to a financially disadvantaged student each semester. The selection criteria include passing all subjects with an overall first division in each semester and having attended public schools at the SLC, +2, and B.Sc. levels. Additional factors such as a rural background or studying in Nepali medium at the SLC level may also be considered.

2. Dr. L. Sreerama Scholarship:

Dr. L. Sreerama sponsors a partial scholarship of Rs. 10,000 to one of the top ten performing students each year. The recipient of this scholarship should not have received any other scholarship during that year.

3. Dr. G.K. Rekha Scholarship:

Dr. G.K. Rekha offers a partial scholarship of Rs. 10,000 to one of the top ten performing female students each year. Like the previous scholarship, the recipient should not have received any other scholarship that year.

Students are also awarded through various scholarships from TU CAS (Chinese Academy of Sciences), UGC (University Grants Commission)- Nepal, NAST (Nepal Academy of Science and Technology), NHRC (Nepal Health Research Council) and other international organizations to carry out their research leading to M.Sc. dissertation.
